David Schwimmer still thinks that Ross and Rachel were “on a break.”

Ross often says, “We were on a break,” which has become one of the most popular phrases from Friends.

One of the most important debates for over twenty years is whether or not Ross betrayed Rachel in the fifteenth episode of Friends’ third season.

If you don’t remember, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) broke up with Ross (David Schwimmer) in that episode because he was always jealous of her coworker Mark.

Ross goes to a party with Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) right after they break up. Due to a mix-up with Rachel, he gives in to a girl’s advances and sleeps with her. At this point, a conversation starts that has happened in every season of Friends.

Ross doesn’t think he did anything wrong because he was not with Rachel when he had a sexual encounter with the other woman. Rachel disagrees with this interpretation, which made Ross say “we were on a break” repeatedly.

David Schwimmer brought up the subject when he was on The Tonight Show. During his talk with Jimmy Fallon, the actor pointed out that people still have different ideas about this subject. They split up. But his view is clear: Yes, there’s no question about it.

The actor would appear to think precisely the same way in his role. Who knows if she will ever learn what Jennifer Aniston says about her? Who knows if she will ever find out?
