Here are 15 things about friends that you probably didn’t know.

Friends are one of the most well-liked TV shows ever. For ten years, millions of people watched what six friends in New York did, how they got along with each other, and how hard things were for them.

On September 22, 1994, the first episode of the show aired. On September 22, 2022, the show will have been on the air for 28 years.

So, here are 15 things you might not have known about friends:

Friends weren’t the show’s first title.

David Crane and Marta Kauffman, who wrote the show, had already registered a little bit of a script. But NBC gave it the name “Friends Like Us” when they bought it. The phrase “across the hall” was then thought about. After a while, the name was changed to “Six of One,” and the name “Friends” was chosen at launch.

The show didn’t get made in New York.

Many people were upset that Friends wasn’t always shot in New York. The outside pictures of the building and the city were, of course, taken there. For example, the scenes shot in the apartments and Central Perk were made at Warner’s studios in Los Angeles.

In the end, Phoebe and Mike wouldn’t be together.

At first, Phoebe and David were going to get married. But Mike, the character played by Paul Rudd, was the one who got Phoebe’s heart because of his charm.

Matthew Perry’s drinking problem

Matthew Perry got help for his drug and alcohol problems in 1997 while working on the show Friends. Fans’ sadness has grown since the actor returned to discuss his alcoholism. The actor said he never got drunk on set but was always miserable because of a hangover.

The script included Lisa Kudrow’s pregnancy.

The show was planned around Lisa Kudrow’s pregnancy for the sitcom. They made Phoebe the “mother” of the triplets that belonged to her brother.

Joey and Monica would make a good couple.

Even though it seems weird to think about it now, Monica and Joey were once supposed to date. Luckily, the plan didn’t go as planned, and Monica and Chandler were already there.

Before the show’s first episode, the cast went to Las Vegas.

The actors went to dinner at Caesar’s Palace to enjoy their last few moments of privacy. In the end, their friendships got more robust because of the trip.

Ross was made for David Schwimmer to act in.

David Schwimmer was the only actor who didn’t try out for the part. Before the show began, he was in a pilot episode with the show’s creators. Even so, Ross was mainly written for the actor who plays him.

Salaries grew

When the first season of Friends aired, each of the main actors made about $22,000 per episode. Last season, this amount went up to $1 million per episode.

Things could have been very different with the cast.

Courteney Cox almost got the part of Rachel instead of Monica. Still, the actress insisted on switching roles because she liked the “stronger” one better.

Matthew Perry missed out on Chandler’s part because he had to work on the TV show LAX 2194. Luckily, the show didn’t do well. The actor was given the same amount that Iron Man director Jon Favreau and Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer had tried.

Jane Lynch from the show Glee and Kathy Griffin from the show Suddenly Susan both tried out for the part of Phoebe. Still, we all know that Lisa Kudrow got the amount in the end.

The identity of the Ugly Naked Guy (Ugly Naked Guy) was only found in 2016

The research done by the Huffington Post found out who the Ugly Nude Guy was. He was the friends’ naked next-door neighbour. He goes by the name Jon Haugen.

Lisa Kudrow didn’t like to play the guitar

How could anyone forget Phoebe and all of her musical “gifts”? It turns out this was the case, in the end, one of Phoebe’s best skills or lack of skills. It looks like the character’s interpreter is to blame for this. Lisa Kudrow didn’t like playing the guitar, so she stopped taking lessons to improve.

Jennifer Aniston didn’t like Rachel’s new haircut very much

Jennifer Aniston didn’t like her character’s famous hairstyle, which is one of the most exciting things about things the Friends actors didn’t like.
The actress said she needed a lot of help with the haircut because she didn’t know how to do it herself. It’s important to remember that when the show first came out, the cut was popular and started a trend.

Real audience

Many concerts with laughter in the background aren’t recorded with a live crowd. Instead, laughter is often added after the fact. In Friends, the writers liked to see how the audience reacted to gags to see which ones worked and which didn’t.
Only episodes that were important to the story as a whole were different. In this case, the goal was to ensure the spoilers didn’t leak.

Gunther would be a bit player

Gunther, played by James Michael Tyler, was only an extra because he was the only one who knew how to use the coffee machine. But as his fans grew to like him, their cries increased.
