Jennifer Aniston doesn’t like how social media stars are becoming more popular.

As part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Sebastian Stan and Jennifer Aniston recently talked to each other. On this particular day, they talked about their jobs on Pam & Tommy and The Morning Show. The actors spoke about the sex video scandal that Motley drummer Crüe Lee and his then-wife Pamela Anderson started. This scandal inspired the whole plot of the series starring Stan, and the actors always talked about it.

People usually get famous without doing anything at all. Monica Lewinsky and Paris Hilton come to mind. Jennifer Aniston says it all happened “just as the internet started to change how people thought about being famous.”

I’m so thankful to have been a business before it grew into what it is now. Today, there are so many ways to stream. You can become famous on TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram. Almost all of this gets in the form of the actor’s work.

The actress then talked about the bad things about social media and how it was different from being able to finish filming Friends before social media came along.

The actress said, “It was much heavier than I thought.” But there is nothing I would change. We went to school together and learned a lot from each other. Every time we get together, it’s like no time has gone by.
We were going crazy, and this kind of fame came on fast. And we were doing the show in these four walls while all this chaos was happening around us. And thank God we found each other because we couldn’t talk about it outside. We were still sane because we didn’t have social media back then. You see four people eating at a table today. Usually, three people are swiping their fingers without thinking while talking on the phone.
